Biggles Travel Bingo?

Postby kylie_koyote » 13 Sep 2018, 13:43

Have you ever played travel bingo? You can either buy them or make your own, and fill in each square with something you might see on your trip. The winner is the first one to make "Bingo!" and get a row across, down, or diagonal.

Anyway, I was thinking we should come up with Biggles Bingo Cards and when any of us go anywhere (it can be a trip or just going about our daily lives) and we get a square, we can fill it in.

The card is - usually - 5 by 5, with a free space in the middle. So we'd need to come up with 24 things. Once we have the 24 items, I will make a few images of the cards arranged in different order, and forum users can print them off and check the boxes if they so desire. And of course, report back when they have checked something off and we can celebrate  together when someone makes Bingo. :bubbly:

Is anybody else interested in this? The items should be (at least a bit) Biggles related.

Rules:

They should be things you see going forward, not things you may have already seen. (For example, if one of the boxes was "Giant Squid" I could not check it off because I have seen one previously in a museum, but only if I saw one from today on.)

They must be things you have seen in person, not a photograph of the item.

For example:

1. A seaplane
2. A decapod
3. A Spitfire

And so on...

If you are interested, comment back and we can come up with a list of things.

:thanks:

Sounds like an interesting idea but I sincerely hope I do not come across a decapod on my travels

You could without being threatened by one.

There's one in the Museum of Natural History in Madrid - that would count.

I concur, FB.

I've added these as well:

Pith Helmet
Monocle
Biplane

Anybody else want to chime in? How about other animals? My mind is blank at the moment because I am STARVING. It's only 30 minutes to lunch, but Good Lor' I'm hungry.

I don't think I should take part. I only have to visit my museum and I could cross off quite a lot in one foul swoop.

We'll need to think of some that would be quite a stretch for you, FB.

But it shouldn't be impossible - we can't, for example, say "a passport stamp for Maltovia" - they have to be real-world things.

A Ford Pilot is a very uncommon thing in Australia, so I am told by a Ford fancier.

couple two different situations like (Gobi) desert and (Finnish)frozen lake. Some of us might see one but not the other. Different types of aircraft from the books- Camel/Pup/biplane, Spifire/Hurricane.

Treasure, Pirates, cannons,

Orchids- (Orchidaceae), Sunflowers,
Towser-type dog.

Air police vehicle.

A Towser type dog would be a fox terrier and we used to have one some years ago- no good for the Biggles Travel Bingo though.

OK. Here are four cards. They each have the same information, but in different order. Pick one and stick with that one.

:flog: Rule #1: Things you see from today going forward, not something you have seen/done in the past.

:flog: Rule #2: Must be something you see in real life. Not a photo in a book, or on TV, etc.

The winner will be the first one to complete a row across, down, or diagonal.

Photos of yourselves seeing/doing these things will be encouraged, but not required. :D

Use the honor system. Make Biggles proud. Have fun.

I have looked all over for my pearl, but I cannot find the safe place I have put it, so here is a broken string of Woolworth's finest which belonged to my grandmother. 2944

I have found my daughter's pith helmet, though, so that's is two spaces I can colour in!2943

I can check off the ginger haired teenage boy, but I couldn’t get a photo. It’s bad form to take photos of children other than one’s own.
